Seattle is in the midst of one of the wettest winters in history.

Factoring in the leap year, Johnny Berg with the National Weather Service says it’s the wettest December to February on record.

With two more weeks to go, Berg says Seattle has already measured 22.19 inches of rain.

“If you consider the non-leap years, this is only at third place right now,” he said. “The wettest December to February 28 on record is 22.77 inches set back in 1989.”

Berg says it’s likely Seattle will see the half inch of rain necessary to break that record.
