Man reports girlfriend kidnapped after Kirkland robbery

Oct 3, 2014, 10:17 AM | Updated: 12:48 pm

A Kirkland man who was robbed by three armed men early Friday morning reported that his girlfriend was kidnapped.

Police Lieutenant Mike Murray said the woman was with the men when they picked up the boyfriend and began driving around.

“At some point, one of the males in the car displayed a handgun, held a knife to his throat, and asked him for his money, which is around $800, and his cell phone,” Lt. Murray said.

It’s possible the woman was not kidnapped as she knows at least two of the men inside the car and she was with them beforehand, according to Murray.

The car was stopped by a state trooper and detectives are trying to sort out the truth.
