Man stabbed inside Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission

A man in his 40’s was stabbed inside the Seattle’s Union Gospel Mission Thursday afternoon.
Seattle Fire said the man was taken to Harborview Medical Center with a stab wound to the abdomen. He’s in stable condition.
Seattle Police Detective Drew Fowler said other mission residents had tackled the stabbing suspect and were holding him until officers arrived.
“With the assistance of the citizens, they were able to take the suspect into custody and he’s now under arrest for assault,” said Fowler.
A 45-year-old man was shot at the mission in Oct. 2013 while about 70 people were waiting in line for lunch. It’s believed it was the first shooting at the Seattle Union Gospel Mission since it opened in 1932.
Terry Pallas, director of the men’s ministry, has said they have a strict no firearm policy, but guests are not patted down and there is no metal detector inside the building.
