Puyallup Police have taken a suspected burglar into custody after a standoff that closed streets and prompted evacuations at nearby homes.
Police say a neighbor called police after she spotted a man breaking into her neighbor’s house. He fled when officers arrived and police believe that he’s holed up in a residence nearby, possibly his own.
“We believe he’s possibly armed,” said Puyallup Police Capt. Scott Engle.
They believe the suspect has a felony warrant for his arrest.
Police say 5th Ave. NW is closed between 4th St. NW & 2nd St. NW, and 3rd St. NW is closed between 4th Ave. NW & 6th Ave. NW. 4th St. NW is currently still open.
