He hasn’t been seen or heard from for several weeks and now Marysville police say they need help finding a Level III sex offender who has said he wants to reoffend.

Officers went to John E. Stains’ home on Thursday for a routine check and were told he had left weeks ago.

Stains, 39, has not registered himself at another address and no one has come forward to let police know of his whereabouts.

He has said he has a desire to abduct women from a trail and sexually assault them.

Stain, who police say did not go through sex offender treatment while in prison, plead guilty to one count of first degree incest in 2009. He was convicted of sexually assaulting an adult female while visiting her home. He threatened to kill her as he was leaving.

Police describe Stains as a white male with brown hair and blue eyes. He wears glasses. He’s six feet tall and weighs about 210 pounds.

If you have any information about Stains, you’re urged to call Marysville Police Department at 360-363-8350.
