Voters faced with big decisions on election day

Aug 6, 2013, 5:43 AM | Updated: 5:36 pm

They say all politics is local, and Tuesday’s primary election is a great example of that. A lot of mayors and council members will be decided.

The marquee races are in King County where voters are being asked to select the top two candidates for County Executive to advance to the November election.

Seattle voters are deciding on the top two candidates for mayor, and there’s a parks levy on the ballot.

In Pierce County, there’s a fire levy asking voters for more tax money for emergency services, and there are mayor’s races in Auburn, Bonney Lake and Eatonville.

In Snohomish County, several county council seats are up for grabs, and there are contested races for mayor in Mukilteo and Lynnwood.

Ballots need to be postmarked by 8:00 p.m. Tuesday. King County Elections has set up several drop boxes and vans to make it easy for voters to return their ballots. Pierce County and Snohomish County have also set up special drop boxes for voters.
