Airbus wants to build in Boeing’s backyard

Airbus is looking to set up shop in Boeing’s backyard because it wants a crack at the aerospace talent we have in Washington.
Airbus’ top man in the U.S. told reporters at the Paris Air Show that the company is very interested in creating a footprint in Washington.
The Seattle Times reports Airbus Americas chairman Allan McArtor met with Congressman Rick Larsen this week in Paris about the possibility of creating an engineering center here and striking up relationships with the aerospace suppliers in the state.
McArtor said Airbus is interested in getting to know the universities and trade schools here to tap into our engineering talent.
Hopefully, he said, Airbus can do a lot of business in Washington.
