This week’s app of the week can actually have a practical application in the real world.
“That’s why I picked it,” says GeekWire host Todd Bishop. “I like apps that empower you by connecting the real and the digital worlds.”
The Adobe Kuler app allows users to identify any color they come across using their smartphone or tablet.
“The cool trick with this is you can point the camera from the iPhone through the app up to any surface and it captures the surface and the colors in the camera and then it identifies the color you are actually looking at, so it gives you an RGB color of a real-world object,” says Bishop.
Bishop says it’s a great tool for designers who can use their phone to identify colors that speak to them in life, then they can incorporate the colors in their projects.
Adobe Kuler is available for free for iPhone and iPad.
