The boy and another classmate were students at Fort Colville Elementary School in February and intended on killing their classmates, including his young girlfriend.

The two took a gun, ammunition and a knife to school to carry out the attack.

The boy pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit murder, witness tampering and firearms possession.

The prosecutor had wanted a six-year sentence. A Stevens County judge decided he should serve between three and five years.
