He just wanted to check out the big city, but a little calf didn’t quite make it Tuesday afternoon.

The baby bovine was spotted in the shoulder on US 2 near Home Acres Road in Everett.

The WSDOT reported traffic slowed down to an utter crawl while a handful of people wrangled the little adventurer to the side of the road. No injuries were reported.

It’s unclear where baby’s parents were (clearly not paying close attention) at the time of the trek. The stretch of US2 between Everett and the split to 202 and Stevens Pass Highway, often referred to as ‘the trestle,’ spans several acres of pasture.

Better luck next time, babe.
