Brief lockdown at 3 Federal Way schools after threat

Apr 11, 2013, 10:52 AM | Updated: 11:31 am

Three Federal Way schools were placed on a brief lockdown Thursday morning as police searched for a man accused of threatening a woman with a gun nearby.

Decatur High School, Olympic View Elementary and Twin Lakes Elementary were placed on lockdown at 9:48 a.m. The lockdown was lifted around 30 minutes later, according to Cathy Schrock with the Federal Way Police Department.

She said an 18-year-old man threatened a woman with a gun as she walked near the two schools. It is unclear what the relationship is between the suspect and victim.

Police searched the area with a K-9 unit and located the suspect, who was taken into custody. Schrock said the man has a history of similar behavior.
