Port of Tacoma shuts down after longshore worker death

Mar 25, 2013, 10:52 AM | Updated: 12:03 pm

The Port of Tacoma is shut down after a longshore worker died Monday morning.

Port spokesperson Julie Collins says the death wasn’t related to an accident.

“This appears to be of more natural causes, probable cardiac related death,” says Collins.

This is the second death at the port in less than two weeks. A man died on a container crane March 12.

The port will reopen at 8:00 a.m. on Tuesday.
