Seattle mayoral primary race...

Bruce Harrell and Lorena Gonzalez are leading in the race for Seattle mayor in the August primary election, garnering 34.03% and 32.10% of the vote, respectively.

Trailing behind Harrell and Gonzalez is Colleen Echohawk with 10.26% of the vote, followed by Jessyn Farrell (7.29%), Art Langlie (5.56%), Casey Sixkiller (3.38%), and Andrew Grant Houston (2.67%).

Farrell, Echohawk, and Houston had all conceded as of Thursday evening.

With incumbent Jenny Durkan not running for reelection, the field for Seattle’s mayoral race attracted 15 total candidates. The top two vote-getters will move on the general election in November.

Bruce Harrell is no stranger to Seattle city government, having served as city council president and once as interim mayor. He opted not to run for reelection for his council seat in 2019. That saw Gonzalez — who has served on the dais since 2016 — become council president in the wake of Harrell’s departure, before opting not to run for reelection in 2021 to pursue a mayoral campaign.
