Lynnwood man accused of shooting girl dozens of times with pellet gun

A Lynnwood man has been arrested after allegedly tying up a 4-year-old girl and shooting her dozens of times with a pellet rifle.

The 26-year-old was booked into the Snohomish County jail Thursday for investigation of second-degree assault on a child and unlawful imprisonment.

The case came to light when the little girl’s grandmother noticed red dots on her body and asked what had happened. According to court documents, the girl told detectives the man “hogtied” her, and then shot her more than 35 times because she woke him up.

The girl has since been taken into protective custody.
It is not clear what the girl’s relationship is to the man, although documents suggest they live in the same home.

When asked by a detective where her mother was during the assault, the girl said her mom “doesn’t care about her getting shot and tied up and said her mom leaves because she doesn’t want to hear her cry.”

The Associated Press contributed to this report.
