Seattle Police say they’re trying to figure out why a wanted felon had a car full of guns, body armor, drugs, a fake badge and a bunch of cash.

SPD Anti-Crime Team officers spotted the 48-year-old man driving around north Seattle on January 7th. He was wanted on a Department of Corrections burglary warrant. When they arrested him, they discovered he had a suspended license and was driving a car registered to someone else.

Police contacted the owner of the car after noticing several backpacks and a snowboard. The owner said he had let the suspect test drive the car because it was for sale and let officers search it.

They found two loaded handguns, an armored vest emblazoned with the word “sheriff”, zip ties and a security badge.

After booking him into the King County Jail, they also found six grams of what’s believed to be heroin and four grams of suspected methamphetamine hidden in his underwear.

Officials says they haven’t yet connected him to any recent cases of officer impersonation in the Seattle area, but are investigating.
