Authorities have recovered two trailers and a truck stolen from SeaTac last month, but there's no sign of 7,000 Wii-U video game consoles taken in a brazen robbery.

Authorities have recovered two trailers and a truck stolen from SeaTac last month, but there’s no sign of 7,000 Wii-U video game consoles taken in a brazen robbery.

The King County Sheriff’s Office says thieves broke into a Seattle Air Cargo warehouse in SeaTac December 16th. They used forklifts to load at least 64 pallets of Wii consoles into two stolen 53-foot trailers and a box van, then drove off.

“I can’t remember ever hearing about something like this. This is something you hear in the movies that’s pretty elaborate where people go in and steal warehouses full of stuff,” says Sgt. Cindi West of the robbery, estimated at $2 million.

West says the empty box truck was located in Fife on December 19th. One of the trailers was recovered on December 30th in Auburn, while the remaining one was found near Carson, California January 2nd.

The thieves had covered over the logos and vehicle identification numbers with white paint, and painted “S.S. Trans” on the side.

“We’ve been working with the Los Angeles-based Cargo Theft Task Force,” West says. “Apparently they have quite a problem down in that area with these cargo thefts, so hopefully they’ll be able to help us with those leads.”

Crimestoppers is offering a $10,000 reward for information leading to arrests and recovery of the consoles. If you have any information, you are asked to call 1-800-222-TIPS.
