The city of Mukilteo will be filing an appeal in federal court in opposition of the FAA's decision to allow commercial flights at Paine Field.

KING 5 reports the city is appealing a decision by the Federal Aviation Administration which approved a two-gate airport at the Everett air field.
Mukilteo Mayor Joe Marine opposes the commercial flights at the air field that borders Mukilteo, and on Monday, the City Council gave its approval to appeal the FAA decision.
Allegiant Air has plans to fly commercial flights out of Paine Field. Horizon Air has also expressed interest in the air field in the past.
