Seattle Public Libraries reopened its NewHolly branch this last week, meaning that for the first time since the start of the pandemic, all 27 of the city’s branches are now up and running.

Seattle Public Libraries reports $434K in damage, cites increase in loitering, vandalism

Moving forward, the NewHolly branch will be open between 1 p.m. and 8 p.m. on Mondays and Tuesdays, and between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m. on Wednesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. Patrons will be permitted to “browse the collection and check out books, use a computer or Wi-Fi, charge devices, ask for assistance, or simply sit and read.”

“This was an exciting day for The Seattle Public Library and for NewHolly Branch patrons,” interim Chief Librarian Tom Fay said at the branch’s reopening celebration. “Seattle is a city of neighborhoods, and today the Library is once again serving every neighborhood in Seattle. The NewHolly Branch is a safe, welcoming space, and a vital resource for kids and families in Southeast Seattle. It is wonderful to welcome the community back inside.”
