Robbers targeting gamblers leaving casinos

Casino patrons in South Seattle and Tukwila need to be careful on their rides home. Robbers are following them and stealing their winnings.

Seattle police believe five men are targeting gamblers at the Great America Casino in Tukwila and the Roman Casino in South Seattle. They follow them home, and then rob them at gunpoint.

KIRO TV reports five violent robberies are being investigated from just one week in October.

The robbers have driven as far away as Redmond and Puyallup to attack their victims, some of whom have been pistol-whipped. Detectives believe they know who’s responsible, but they haven’t been arrested.

At least one of the casinos is now offering gamblers checks for their winnings instead of cash.
