The wife of attorney Danford Grant, the man accused in a series of rapes at massage parlors around the Seattle area, apparently moved his car away from the crime scene a few days after Grant was arrested.

KING 5 reports Grant’s Honda Pilot was parked near the Greenwood massage parlor where he was arrested. But three days after the arrest, Grant’s wife, Jennifer, moved the car from the scene to a spot about 10 blocks from their Wedgwood home.

Attorney Richard Hansen tells KING 5 she didn’t park the car close to their home because of the media.

“Her house was basically under siege by the media. There were constantly cameras outside. Every time she came and went people tried to interview her. It was basically just for her privacy.”

Police had been searching for the vehicle, because they believed the car might contain evidence, such as the knife and a pack of condoms used in the alleged attacks.
Jennifer Grant says she didn’t remove anything from the vehicle.

“Once the police finish searching the car I think it will be obvious to everyone there are things that could’ve been removed that weren’t,” says Hansen.

KIRO Radio Editor Karen Taylor contributed to this report.
