Flags will be placed at the graves of the more than 5,000 service members buried at Evergreen Washelli Memorial Park in Seattle. There will be a public service of remembrance that starts at 11 a.m.

State ferries will sound their whistles at 11:11 a.m. on Nov. 11 to commemorate Veterans Day, “in tribute to the bravery and sacrifice of the men and women who have served in the United States armed forces.” All operating boats will also be flying the POW/MIA flag to honor those who were held as prisoners of war or were declared missing in action during their service.

At the Museum of Flight in Tukwila, there will be a special celebration from 11 a.m. to noon. The event is being held in-person at the museum, and will be streamed live online here for free.

Any veterans or active duty military members visiting the Museum of Flight on Thursday receive free general admission.
