Arrest in case of Tacoma cop dragging during traffic stop

An arrest was made early Thursday morning in the case of a driver who dragged a Tacoma police officer with his car during a traffic stop earlier this week.
Pierce County Sheriff’s deputies pulled over a car for driving without headlights about 3 a.m. in the 5300 block of East “I” Street.
Deputies recognized a passenger in the vehicle from a flyer, even though the passenger gave a false name.
The passenger was arrested for assault.
The Tacoma officer dragged for a distance by the driver’s car door during Monday’s traffic stop has minor injuries. After he got free, the officer fired several shots.
