Man charged in Yancy Noll’s murder pleads not guilty

The man charged with killing Yancy Noll at an intersection in North Seattle about six weeks ago pleaded not guilty Monday morning.

Dinh Bowman, 29, charged with first-degree murder, is accused of pulling up alongside Noll’s car on Aug. 31 at a red light in the Roosevelt neighborhood and opening fire. Noll suffered three gunshot wounds to the head and died at the scene.

Tips from the public led police to Bowman’s residence in the 7400 25th Avenue Northeast, less than a mile from the crime scene. Homicide detectives executed a search warrant at the home on Sept. 21 and seized a BMW Z-4 matching the description of the vehicle that fled the scene. A window and all four tires had been replaced. The vehicle also smelled like fresh paint, according to court documents.

Police also discovered multiple firearms at the home, but have not found the gun used to kill Noll, a 9mm.
