Seattle Police arrested a student at Eckstein Middle School Thursday morning for bringing a small explosive in his backpack.
Officers said the device was similar to a large firework.
“Unless it was close to somebody, it only would have caused minor damage,” explained police spokesperson Mark Jamieson.
The 14-year-old was booked into the youth service center for possession of an explosive.
