There have been plenty of complaints about the mayor of Pacific and the city’s police department; but there will be no criminal charges following investigations by the King County Sheriff’s Office and State Patrol, according to the Sheriff’s Department.
Pacific City Council President Leanne Guier had asked for an independent investigation in July after allegations of misconduct by mayor Cy Sun and members of the police department.
The Sheriff’s Office asked the State Patrol to separately investigate the claims against the police officers.
The Sheriff’s Office conducted an extensive investigation into the allegations, which included destroying public records, assaulting employees and intimidating a public servant.
After reviewing the investigation, the King County Prosecutors Office determined there was no evidence a crime was committed and no charges were warranted.
The State Patrol also submitted the findings from its separate investigation to prosecutors, who also determined there was no evidence to justify charges against any of the officers.
