Ready to hit bookstore shelves in less than two months, “Race to the Bottom: Uncovering the Secret Forces Destroying American Public Education” is a shocking expose that will come as a surprise to many.

The author, Luke Rosiak, is an investigative reporter with the Daily Wire, and former writer for the Washington Post. I’m hoping to get Rosiak as a guest on The Dori Monson Show closer to the book’s publication – but the advance was so good, I had to talk about it here.

In his quest to reveal what is happening in “racial equity” and “ethnic studies” programs in school districts around the country today, Rosiak traces many of the roots to Seattle.

“Despite decades of the most aggressive equity programs anyone could ask for,” he writes, “Seattle’s racial disparities are among the worst in the nation – and they’re getting worse, not better.”

In an exclusive piece posted this week to the Daily Wire titled “Meet The Seattle Schools Woke Indoctrination Czar Who Married A Child Molester,” the author shares an excerpt from his book. He calls it the “never-before-told story about America’s first ‘woke’ school system.”

Rosiak details the ascent and fall of Tracy Castro-Gill, who, until recently, was Seattle Public Schools’ director of ethnic studies, making at least $93,000 a year. But Castro-Gill, who claimed to have overcome childhood poverty and homelessness in her battle against racism, was instead “a perennially unhappy toxic liar, one who misrepresented her background to the point that her own father compared her to Rachel Dolezal, and who was ultimately pushed out of her job for repeated misconduct,” the author writes.

“A focus on racial oppression did not create resiliency, but rather despondency, with Castro-Gill and three other racial justice leaders going on paid leave from SPS for mental health issues in 2019 alone,” Rosiak said.

Rosiak not only details Castro-Gill’s school workplace politics, but her personal life.

“She married a convicted child molester and moved her young daughter in with him,” after leading a double life on an interactive computer game while married to another man, the Daily Wire piece states.

After moving to Seattle, Castro-Gill told colleagues and others in her education leadership circles that she had been a gang member who used drugs.

Her father, Rick Castro, says none of this is real.

“Everything since [Tracy] moved to Seattle has been one big lie,” Rick Castro told Rosiak.
