Republican vice-presidential candidate Paul Ryan will be in the Seattle area on Monday to raise money for the GOP ticket.
Ryan is scheduled to attend a private evening reception at the home of cellular phone pioneer Bruce McCaw in Medina that costs $1,000 to get in, or $2,500 for a picture with Ryan. A dinner afterward at a separate residence costs closer to $25,000, according to The Seattle Times.
Ryan has no public events planned. The Times reports State Republican Party Chairman Kirby Wilbur calls it “a hit and run” because Ryan is making such a short visit.
Republican gubernatorial candidate Rob McKenna is not attending the Ryan events because he has a previously scheduled campaign fundraiser of his own in Moses Lake.
