Police in Pierce County are trying to track down two valuable cars before they’re stripped down for parts.
Sheriff’s Detective Ed Troyer says burglars broke into a warehouse near 162nd St. and Meridian E. in Puyallup sometime between 10 p.m. on Wednesday and 9 a.m. Thursday Aug. 9.
“These cars are definitely collectible cars. They’re worth hundreds of thousands of dollars and they just came from the Barrett-Jackson auto auction.”
In fact, the 1965 Chevrolet Corvette Stingray 2-door hardtop coupe and dark gray 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 2-door hardtop with black racing stripes are valued at about $150,000 each.
CrimeStoppers is offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to the recovery of the vehicles and/or the arrest of the suspects.
