Residential Waste Management customers will be missed in waste pickup again on Monday. Waste Management has replacement drivers, but they are only picking up commercial customers.

Replacement drivers arrived by bus this morning at Waste Management’s south Seattle truck barn, pushing their way across the picket lines.

They will be hitting critical stops like hospitals and daycares. They will also be picking up at businesses.

Residential customers will not see any service again Monday. But customers will be able to put out double the amount of trash on the next pickup day.

Waste Management is about to start facing huge fines if it doesn’t start making its rounds. Fines of $250,000 a day will start being assessed in Seattle on Wednesday.

There were some informal talks between the sides on Saturday but no negotiations.
