Lawyer vows Powell sentencing won’t be end of search for Susan

Steve Powell learns his fate Friday for his conviction on
14 counts of voyeurism. But the attorney for girls spied
on by the father of notorious killer Josh Powell says
it’s just the beginning, not the end.

Anne Bremner, who also represents the two neighbor girls
secretly photographed by Powell through the bathroom
window of their Puyallup home, says she plans to slap him
with a civil lawsuit if she isn’t stopped by by Pierce
County court security.

“We’ll have access to the entire file now without having
to go through formal discovery which can be expensive and
cumbersome. I have yet to get any of the images from the
voyeurism, any of the probable cause documents, any of the
Powell investigation witness interviews etc. that would
form the basis for our lawsuit,” Bremner says.

While prosecutors are seeking 10 years in prison for
Powell for the the 14 felonies, sentencing guidelines
call for between 43-57 months.

Bremner says while there’ll be no discussion of Powell’s
missing daughter-in-law Susan Cox Powell or his son’s
murder of their two boys and his suicide, finding out what
happened to her remains is a priority for the family

“Both these families are committed to finding Susan.
Keep in mind that we had a lot of surprises when they
unsealed the search warrants in this case pertaining to
Susan’s disappearance that there was blood found in the
house, that they knew there was $3.5 million in life
insurance taken out before her disappearance,” Bremner
says. She also represents Susan Powell’s parents Chuck
and Judy Cox of Puyallup.

Bremner is also seeking access to records from West
Valley, Utah police who led the investigation into Susan
Powell’s disappearance and her husband’s potential role.
Officials there denied her initial request and she says
she will sue if an appeal is rejected.
