A victim was stabbed Tuesday at 8:30 pm at the intersection of 5th Avenue and South Jackson Street, according to Seattle Police.

Officers said when they arrived on the scene, they found the man stabbed in the neck with life-threatening injuries.

Seattle Fire Department medics rushed the man to Harborview Medical Center for treatment.

SPD says the victim and the suspect got into an altercation before the stabbing.

Casey McNerthney, spokesperson with the King County Prosecutor’s Office, says stopping criminal activity in this area is vital for the prosecutor’s office, police, and the mayor’s office.

“When we get a case in the CID of violent crime, that’s a priority for us. Because people have been faced with unacceptable levels of violence there.”

Seattle Police Department Detectives continue their investigation.

If you have any information about this case, you are urged to call the SPD Violent Crimes Tip Line at 206-233-5000.
