Washington State Patrol performed emphasis patrols for its Move Over law on Snohomish County freeways between 8 and 9 p.m. Wednesday, resulting in 37 cars being stopped, Trooper Jacob Kennett tweeted.

Of the 37 cars that were stopped, 13 were “aggressive drivers,” 17 received Move Over law tickets, and two had suspended licenses.

According to WSP, the Move Over law applies when drivers see an emergency vehicle, tow truck, work zone, or emergency scene that is stationary or slow moving on the road.

Drivers are required to move over in this case, and if they aren’t able they must slow down by at least 10 mph below the posted speed limit.
