Amazon to hire 1,000 more in Seattle

Amazon seems serious about filling the new 37-story towers
the company has proposed for its new downtown Seattle
complex.
The company announced Monday it plans to hire 1,000 new
people for its Seattle offices.
TechFlash reports the company is
seeking to hire technical developers to work on software
engineering, management of software development, user
interface and user experience design, and technical program
management.
Amazon won’t have the talent pool all to itself. Microsoft
plans to hire over 1,500 new workers, while Facebook, Google
and F5 Networks are all expanding their local offices.
But at the same time, TechFlash reports the state’s largest
universities aren’t churning out enough graduates to keep up
with demand, so the companies are hiring all over the world
to fill the local jobs.
