Dedo’s Daily Crime Corner: Bremerton chase ends in gunfire, $400,000 in comics recovered in Lynnwood

High-speed chase ends in shootout in Bremerton

This past Sunday at 1:51 p.m., Bremerton Police Officers tried pulling Knox over as he entered Highway 3 northbound from Loxie Eagans.

He led Bremerton Police on a chase, exited the highway at Austin Drive, and crashed his vehicle.

Police say he took a rifle from the car and ran off down the highway. According to Bremerton Police, Knox fired shots at officers, and no officers were hit.

Police say Knox stopped a vehicle and threatened the occupants with the gun. He jumped in and sped away southbound on Highway 3 and went into a house in the 5500 block of Harlow Drive.

Initially, Officers thought Knox ran off into the woods but learned from neighbors he was inside the house.

Officers negotiated with Knox to give himself up. Bremerton Police say for two hours he allegedly fired shots from inside the home toward Kitsap County Sheriff’s Deputies, at least one bullet hit a vehicle.

Police say Knox set a fire inside the home and jumped off the balcony with a rifle. He jumped into another car and took off. Construction forced Knox to stop in the 900 block of Price Road, and officers say he got out of the vehicle and fired more shots. The Deputies and Knox weren’t hurt.

The details of Knox’s encounter with the Kitsap County Sheriff’s Office are currently under investigation by the Washington State Patrol.

Knox was transported to Kitsap County Jail, and will be booked for two counts of 2nd Degree Attempted Murder, 1st Degree Robbery, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Rendering Criminal Assistance, Resisting Arrest, and Eluding.

He also faces 1st Degree Robbery and 2nd Degree Domestic Violence Charges in Port Orchard.

His bail is set at $1,050,000.

Kent Police find kidnapped woman in Seattle

This morning, Seattle Police Officers responded to a Lake City location to assist the Kent Police Department in arresting a kidnapping suspect.

According to Kent PD, the suspect assaulted the victim, dragged her into a car, and struck the victim’s teenage daughter with the car as it sped away.

Seattle Police located the vehicle and arrested the suspect. Kent Police detectives took custody of the suspect.

Catalytic converters strike storage facility in Pierce County

A Pierce County Deputy was dispatched to a storage facility for a commercial burglary in the 15500 block of Canyon Road E, Brookdale. According to the surveillance video, three suspects arrived in a stolen vehicle and cut the razor wire near the gate.

Once inside the yard, the suspects cut the catalytic converters off several RVs.

Lynnwood Police recover $400,000 in stolen collectables

Lynnwood Police arrested two men suspected of stealing $400,000 in comic books and sports cards

The victim told police many of the items had been handed down from family members.

Police say his storage units were hit between February and May.

Detectives used surveillance video from CubeSmart Storage on Highway 99 to track down the alleged thieves.

Game store in International District robbed for second time

A Seattle Game Store owner is offering a $10,000 dollar reward to find the people who have burglarized his business twice.

Pink Guerilla Games owner Cody Spencer says his International District business is being targeted by thieves.

His shop was broken into overnight July 5 and 22.

The suspect that broke in was caught on surveillance video busting through the glass door to enter the store.

According to Cody the suspect was in and out in about 20 seconds and good Nintendo gaming systems.

Cody believes it is the same man who has broke-in twice. He says he looks the same and walks the same on the surveillance video.

The suspects are responsible for $16,000 in damages and stolen items.

Cody says that Seattle Police told him some other gaming stores might have been targeted July 5 too.
