Man found dead in Renton

Shortly after 12:30 p.m. July 27 police were called to 900 block of Houser Way North in Renton to reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, officers found a man who had been shot, already dead at the scene.

Police have not said if a suspect has been taken into custody.

The incident is the second fatal shooting in Renton in less than a week.

Third shootout this week in front of a Parkland home

A 12-year-old girl was unexpectedly grazed by a bullet while in her home after what police believe to be a gang-related shoot-out happened in the street in front of the house. Her injuries are not life-threatening.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says it happened about 1:30 a.m. at 98th Street South and Ainsworth Street South.

One person involved in the shooting was rushed to the hospital after his car ran into a nearby church fence. He was shot and rushed to the hospital in critical condition. Deputies found a rifle in his vehicle and are waiting to interview him to determine how he was involved.

Investigators believe that the shooting was targeting another house in the area about a block away. Deputies say that the same home has been shot at two other times this week: Sunday and Monday in separate incidents.

Whatcom Sheriff’s Office, DEA arrest 12 in drug bust

The Gang and Drug Task Force of the Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) are announcing the conclusion of a joint investigation into a narcotics trafficking group.

Agents made a dozen arrests and seized 34 firearms, 50,000 fentanyl pills, 7 kilos of fentanyl powder, two pounds of methamphetamine, three ounces of cocaine, and $58,000.

Leading up to this takedown, investigative methods were used, including a traffic stop that led to the seizure of an Improvised Explosive Device. (IED)

The search and arrest warrants were served in 11 locations in Washington State and one in Fresno, California.

Tacoma Police arrest man suspected of shooting

On Saturday, July 23, Tacoma police received reports of a shooting at the 8800 block of S. Hosmer St where they found a woman in the driver’s seat of a car who had been shot.

The 42-year-old woman was declared dead at the scene, and police began investigating.

On July 25 at around 2:45 p.m., Tacoma police saw a vehicle that was identified previously in relation to the shooting, and when they attempted to stop the vehicle the driver fled, hitting another car stopped at a light.

The driver made it a short distance before the vehicle was disabled on the on-ramp of Interstate 5. Police apprehended the 20-year-old driver of the vehicle and booked him on a felony evading arrest and a hit and run.

Later detectives were able to add the charge of first-degree murder for the incident July 23 upon investigating the man further.
