Over the weekend, Lacey Police Officers responded to a call about trespassing at a construction site on 6th Ave SE.

Officers arrived and located a female wearing a construction vest and hard hat. She admitted that she had entered the site and stolen items.

She was also wearing a City of Lacey jacket. The officers did not recognize her and asked where she got her jacket. She admitted to stealing the jacket from an employee at City Hall. She was booked into jail for theft and trespassing.

Suspect tries knifing and whacking cops with metal bar

Pierce County Deputies were dispatched to an assault where the suspect attacked the victim with a metal bar.

When deputies arrived, they attempted to arrest the suspect inside a trailer, but he broke free from them and ran further inside the trailer.

He returned with a large knife and attempted to stab the deputies. A struggle ensued, and the deputies gained control of the suspect.

The 40-year-old suspect was jailed for three counts of assault in the first degree. One of the deputies injured his shoulder during the incident.

Scam artists steal more jewelry

Scam alert: Look out for this scam, Lacey residents.

These are scam artists in the area pretending to look at jewelry a woman is wearing.

They then begin showing the victim different jewelry to try on and take off both the real and fake jewelry when they are done.

Another trick is they may also ask to see jewelry or kiss a hand bearing a ring, then forcibly remove it.
