Around 10:30 a.m. Monday morning, the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) responded to a box truck running into a home at Wallingford Avenue N and N 85th Street, just north of Green Lake.

While there has been no official confirmation about what might have caused the crash, Seattle Police warned drivers of slick roads in their tweet alongside a photo of the accident.

The passenger of the truck was able to get out of the vehicle before impact, but the driver was stuck and the fire crew needed to pull him out, according to Kristen Tinsley with SFD. The two homeowners were not at home at the time of the incident.

The truck driver sustained minor injuries and was taken to Harborview Medical Center. The passenger also had minor injuries but did not need to be transported to the hospital.

“Definitely very unusual. And you know, one of our first concerns, when we respond to incidents like this, was anyone home inside of the house?” Tinsely said. “So learning that the driver was trapped, we got that information almost immediately when we got on the scene, which was very helpful to the responding crews. But our next question, was anyone home? Luckily, in today’s scenario, they were not.”
