For those asking what to do with downed tree limbs and other yard debris following the severe windstorm, the city of Marysville, in partnership with Waste Management Northwest, is sharing locations to dispose of your yard waste.

Locations include Lenz Enterprises in Stanwood, Cedar Grove in Everett, and Pacific Topsoils in Everett. Bear in mind, all of the listed locations close by 5 p.m.

Snohomish County solid waste facilities are currently not accepting yard or wood debris until further notice due to railway transportation issues.

If you already own and use a yard service bin (green), you can simply cut up the branches into short pieces and place them inside.

Snohomish County utility crews said Friday’s windstorm caused “unprecedented damage.” More than 13,000 customers remain without electricity, according to Snohomish County. The county’s public utility district said it has called in 20 outside crews to help clear the debris.

The North Cascades Highway has also closed for the season following the storm. Crews initially closed SR-20 last Thursday in advance of the weekend, but WSDOT reported the storm hit the road so hard, the department decided to keep it closed for the winter.

The earliest the highway was shut down was Oct. 17, back in 2003.

If you need to order a recycle or yard debris cart or increase the size of your recycle cart, you may do so by contacting the Utility Billing Department.
