Lakewood has fired the police officer accused of stealing from a charity fund for the families of four murdered officers, and now he’s also being investigated for stealing money from another account.
Officer Skeeter Manos was fired on Friday, two days after being accused of stealing $150,000 from the Lakewood Four memorial fund.
Chief Bret Farrar met with the city manager and decided this was the best move for the city.
“Within the department here, everyone is thoroughly disgusted with his actions,” Farrar told KING TV. “They pretty much figured that termination was right around the corner based on what he allegedly had done.”
And now KIRO TV reports Manos is being investigated for allegedly skimming money from fellow officer Brian Wurts’ campaign fund.
Wurts ran unsuccessfully for the Legislature in 2010, and Manos worked on his campaign.
