A top Boeing executive kicked-off the Singapore Air Show by expressing frustration over the latest 787 production problem.

Boeing is dealing with a shimming problem on several 787’s.
Shims are used to fill gaps where pieces of the plane don’t fit together snuggly. Boeing found a problem in the rear sections of several Dreamliners last week.

The company’s vice president of development, Mark Jenks, told reporters Boeing is frustrated with the problem, but he says it shouldn’t delay deliveries. Boeing is already working on repairs and it says it has fixed the issue.

The Dreamliner is one of the stars of the Singapore Air Show. It touched-down in Bangkok over the weekend after a non-stop flight from Seattle.
