Pullman police digging into sexual assault claims at WSU fraternity

PULLMAN, Wash. – Police in Pullman are investigating after a woman said she was sexually assaulted after being provided alcohol at a Washington State University fraternity gathering this weekend.
A second woman said she became ill after drinking alcohol provided at the party.
Just before 7 p.m. Friday, officers went to Pullman Regional Hospital after receiving a report of an 18-year-old woman being treated for sexual assault.
The woman told officers she had been at the Delta Upsilon fraternity, where she had been given alcohol and was sexually assaulted.
Officers made a second trip to the hospital around 2 a.m. after a 17-year-old female student informed hospital staff she had been provided with alcohol at the fraternity earlier that night and later became sick.
Officers said they searched the fraternity and interviewed a possible suspect in the sexual assault. The individual has not been arrested pending further investigation, authorities said.
WSU is aware of the reported incidents and subsequent investigation.
