Pierce Co. firefighter under investigation for child abuse

Aug 10, 2011, 4:57 AM | Updated: Oct 10, 2012, 7:28 am

A Pierce County firefighter might have killed himself to avoid facing child abuse and molestation charges.

KIRO TV reports Scott Hamrick was under investigation for the repeated molestation of his adopted daughters when he killed himself in June. The 48-year-old reportedly left a note saying he was afraid he was going to jail.

Hamrick and his wife have five daughters and three sons.

The Pierce County Sheriff’s Office says arrests could still be coming, despite Hamrick’s suicide. It calls the case disgusting and horrific.
