Reports: ‘Barefoot Bandit’ released from prison, out on work release

Colton Harris-Moore, AKA “The Barefoot Bandit,” is out of prison and will spend the rest of his sentence on work release.
According to Q13, the Washington Department of Corrections says he was put in the Reynolds Work Release facility.
A federal judge sentenced the then 20-year-old to six-and-a-half years in prison for a string of thefts and burglaries. In 2008, he escaped from a juvenile halfway house and evaded law enforcement while committing crimes, including stealing planes, cars, and a boat. He was arrested in the Bahamas.
In August, attorney John Henry Browne told Seattle’s Morning News that Harris-Moore would be doing clerical work in Browne’s office until he finishes work release. Browne, known for representing high-profile cases such as Harris-Moore and serial killer Ted Bundy, said the work at his office will offer “a home” away from the work release facility.
Q13 reports that Harris-Moore will be working part-time and live in a halfway house.
