Former council member shocked to find unresponsive man in her back seat

Former Seattle City Council Member Tanya Woo had an unsettling encounter near 12th and Jackson Thursday night. She returned to her car after a long day of meetings to find an unexpected surprise.

An unresponsive person had broken into the passenger side window and was asleep in her back seat. Woo even said in an Instagram post that she yelled at the man to try and wake him but he wouldn’t wake up.

“If I were anywhere else I would be alarmed scared that he was going to attack me,” Woo said. “I am going to have to wait till he wakes up.”

The former council member is now warning Seattle residents to always check their parked cars before opening the door.
