The “Uncle Sam billboard” on Interstate 5 in Lewis County could soon be under new ownership.

The 3.5-acre property was listed for sale March 3 for $2.5 million, according to The Seattle Times. The sale includes the billboard, a commercial building, and an office on the property.

The billboard is known for its provocative messages and hand-painted portraits of Uncle Sam. Currently, one side of the billboard reads, “How many Americans will we leave behind in Ukraine?”

The other side states, “No one died in WWII so you could show papers to buy food.”

The “Uncle Sam billboard,” which has stood since the 1960s, is the legacy of the late Chehalis turkey and cattle farmer Al Hamilton. The new owners will be able to do whatever they want with it.
