A fire broke out inside a server room on the second floor of the Quil Ceda Creek Casino in Marysville Thursday, the Marysville Fire District (MFD) confirmed.
MFD responded to the fire at approximately 1:30 p.m. after the automatic fire alarm alerted fire crews of the situation.

The casino’s sprinkler system activated immediately and was able to contain the fire before it could spread. The system prevented what could have been a much larger emergency had it not gone off.
“This is a prime example of why commercial sprinklers save lives and property,” Fire Marshal Tom Maloney said. “The sprinkler system activated quickly, kept the fire from spreading, and ensured everyone could evacuate safely.”
Investigations into the cause of the fire are currently underway. MFD noted the building experienced significant water damage, and the cost of the damage remains unknown.
“Marysville Fire District reminds all businesses and property owners to ensure their fire protection systems are properly installed and maintained,” MFD stated.
All patrons and staff were safely evacuated, with no injuries reported.
The Tulalip Bay Fire Department and Everett Fire Department aided MFD in the response.
