Man stabbed near Dick’s Drive-In in Capitol Hill, suspect still at large

A 31-year-old man was stabbed in Capitol Hill overnight Monday.
Officers with the Seattle Police Department (SPD) were called at approximately 12 a.m. to a stabbing near Broadway E. and E. John Street. When they arrived, they found “an alert and conscious victim” with a stab wound to the abdomen.
The Seattle Fire Department came shortly after and transported the victim to Harborview Medical Center.
“Police determined that the incident began over an argument about people sitting on a bench,” SPD reported in its crime blotter. “During the argument, the suspect stabbed the victim with a ‘six-inch kitchen knife’ across from the Dick’s Drive-In.”
The victim is in critical condition, as of this reporting.
The suspect is a white male in his 50s. He reportedly has curly, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a green and white sweater and dark pants. The suspect left the area before police arrived.
“He may still be armed with a knife and should be considered dangerous,” SPD wrote.
