26-year-old fatally shot in the neck in Capitol Hill

A 26-year-old man was shot in the neck and died Wednesday night in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood, the Seattle Police Department (SPD) announced.
At 9:32 p.m., SPD received reports of a shooting in the 1500 block of 10th Ave.
SPD arrived on the scene and located a male suffering from a gunshot wound to the neck.

Officers administered aid to the victim until the Seattle Fire Department (SFD) arrived and took over care.
The victim was later transported to the Harborview Medical Center in critical condition. Despite life-saving efforts, the victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital.
SPD determined that the man was stopped northbound on 10th Avenue when he was shot.
Detectives from the SPD Homicide Unit are investigating the circumstances leading up to the shooting.
There are no suspects in custody at this time.
