Tennessee governor says more federal agents to join fight against crime in Memphis next week

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) — Tennessee Gov. Bill Lee has said more federal agents will help city police to fight crime in Memphis starting next week.

Lee said during a news conference Friday that agents from a total of 13 state and federal agencies will support the Memphis Police Department. He listed the National Guard, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives and the Drug Enforcement Agency as those that would be represented.
