Suspect at large after shooting a woman at an ATM in Renton

Police are searching for a dangerous and violent armed robbery suspect in Renton, who shot a woman in the neck at an ATM.

The shooting happened around 6:30 Friday evening, in downtown Renton, on Burnett Ave. S. near S. 3rd St., about a half block from the Renton Transit Center,.

Investigators say the woman had just finished using the ATM when a male suspect approached her.

They say the man grabbed her purse and she struggled with him.

Police say he then pulled a gun and shot her.

Medics transported the 57-year-old woman to a local hospital.

The suspect took off.

So far, police have not been able to make an arrest.

Witnesses describe the gunman as a black male in his 20s.

He was wearing all red clothing.
